Introverts, Extraverts, and Losing Your Voice

I was shooting pool with Peter von Irle last night and we were filming and started talking about losing one's voice.

Not in a metaphorical way, in a literal, physical way. Like, laryngitis style.

I postulated the following:

+ People who lose their voice from over-talking are likely introverts

+ Extraverts are highly unlikely to ever lose their voice except in extreme overuse or screaming cases (like being at a rock concert)

+ Introverts can lose their voices easily if thrust into a social or public speaking situation, because of the sudden 'overuse' of their voice

Really, it's not rocket science, but I think it's reasonable to say that an Extravert is going to use their physical voice much more often and with more force and energy than will an Introvert.

Thus, the vocal chords of an Extravert are going to be stronger and have more stamina than those of an Introvert, especially an introvert who does the majority of their talking and socializing through a keyboard.

Josh, I have a clarification to do, on the subject of the blog. There are extrovert people who talks a lot and loud, they  ignore all the keys to a good vocal technique, thus causing damage to their vocal cords such as nodules and cysts, which leads them to submit dysphonia and who in some cases respond to specialized management of voice therapy, ie, implementing a proper vocal habits, and there are others who even go to a surgical management ........ So extrovert people who speaks too much, must learn to do it right otherwise they may lose their valuable voice. :)

I think there are two ways to look at this. One is that extroverts use their voice so much that they have stronger vocal chords in a sense and therefore talking a lot wouldn't affect them as much. In other words they have built immunity. Or one might say that because they overuse their voice to begin with that it would be quicker to go whereas introverts have preserved their voices.
