Talk Show Host Michael Savage Banned from UK - What's His Brain Type?
Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 07:38PM
Controversial talk show host Michael Savage found himself on a list with murderers, terrorists, and other assorted scum of the earth today, and was banned from ever entering the United Kingdom.
Whether or not you like or hate the guy, he has 10 million listeners around the world, and is the #3 talk show host in America (presumably behind Rush Limbaugh and somebody).
So for a free country to ban him based on his views is pretty newsworthy.
But what's his brain type?
First off, the guy is most definitely unquestionably _NT_.
Logic, bottom line, the facts the facts the facts. He calls liberalism a "mental disorder" and routinely attacks organizations that try and get unearned rights for their groups. He is definitely rude and crude and can be downright vicious on the air. He's all about facts and not so much about social issues. He can be ruthless and always has reasons for why he is so (whether real or contrived).
That's why a lot of people love him. My guess is, there are not a lot of Feelers who listen to Savage, unless they are passionately in agreement with his views and principles.
Of course, the guy might be putting on a bit of an act, considering he does go by the stage name "Savage" (his real last name is Wiener). My guess is, act or not, he's an NT.
This, from his wiki, agrees with me:
"Savage then earned two master's degrees in ethnobotany and anthropology from the University of Hawaii. He obtained a Ph.D. in 1978 from the University of California, Berkeley, in nutritionalethnomedicine. His thesis was titled Nutritional Ethnomedicine in Fiji. Savage spent many years researching botany in the South Pacific and has a background in alternative medicine."
You can read the rest of his wikipedia page here, if you can get through it...
Introvert or Extravert?
Savage seems to me an Extravert, given his definite gift of gab. But then again, he has written some 20 books or something and studied botany in the South Pacific (likely the source of his son Russell's herbal knowledge for the energy drink Rockstar). That's pretty freaking introverted I think.
Jury's out, but I think he's probably more E than I.
Finally, P or J?
His website is hideous but more importantly, messy. He's a performer and can cover a wide range of topics easily on air - partially P, partially E? He can be ruthless with callers but from the few times I have heard him, he's not consistent with it. Leaning more toward P.
ENTP? Would that work for Savage? I think so.
Does that jive though, I mean, are Savage, Tom Brady, Bill Clinton, and Barak Obama all the same brain type? Hey, I'm just a pop psychologist asking a question, but I think if you look at them closely, at WHO they are, not their professions or status, I think there are a lot of similarities.
Savage just must have had a rougher life than the rest of them, because he's either got a lot of pent-up angst or he's a really talented actor. Either one works for the type.
